You continue your climb.
As you move down the cliff face, you marvel at the size of the birdlike animals flying through the canyon. They’re massive! And they fly so gracefully. You wonder what an animal so large eats.
And that’s when one swoops in behind you and grabs you with its talons. The sharp claws dig into your shoulders. So much that blood starts to run down and soak your shirt.
You attempt to grab your weapon, but it falls harmlessly down to the rocky river below.
You start to thrash about and scream, “Let me go!!” Miraculously, it lets you go.
This is one of those “I have good news and I have bad news” moments. The good news is the Eptor (that’s their name) let you go. The bad news is that you’re about 250 feet in the air.
On the positive side, you don’t feel the impact with ground. It just kills you instantly.
